Feed the World from your Dining Room

Feed the world from your dining room table? Fight global poverty by hanging out with friends?

Feed the world from your dining room table? Fight global poverty by hanging out with friends? That's the idea behind Feed the People to Feed the People (FTP2FTP), an innovative new MDG ministry from an emerging community at St. Mark's Cathedral in Minneapolis.

It's a simple idea that can work for you -- and it's great evangelism to boot. Michael Lawyer tells how:

Begin with the church folk who need relationship time with each other and the chance to do mission. Invite them over for dinner and have them bring the cash they would have spent on a night out.

Instead of buying dinner, you cook them dinner. After dinner, take that money that you and your friends would have spent on a night out, and loan it to a developing world entrepreneur through Kiva.org. Share the information with the rest of the community about what has been done and what more can be done.

Read Michael's whole article here. Then try it ... and let us know how it goes!
