This Christmas, give the gift of EGR!
Certainly not the innkeeper, who turned Mary and Joseph away. Probably not the Holy Couple themselves, struggling with what it meant to be entrusted with this immense and scary mission.
But God knew. And now, we know.
Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation is about incarnation. About spreading the Good News of God's mission of global reconciliation, Christ's dream of "that all might have life and have it in abundance." The angels heralded our savior's birth with cries of "good news of a great joy which will come to all the people" ... news that was so compelling that they could not help but "go and see this thing that has happened." EGR is about spreading that news ... that God's joy, life abundant, is for all people -- and the Good News of What One Person, Congregation, Diocese and Church Can Do to continue incarnating that news in a broken world.
This Christmas, instead of contributing to our societal urge to scratch every itch with more consumption, give the gift of sustenance for this movement. Your gift will help us keep the work of EGR going in the weeks and months to come .... and also honor the recipient by telling them you know that THEY know the best way to observe our Lord's birth is by asking how we can be present where he was most present -- with the poorest of the poor around the world.
